Answer:

Chartered institutes like CIEEM also have lots of resources, updates on the latest regulations which are useful talking points for interviews, as well as information on how to get into the industry. In terms of gaining experience, you can volunteer with local organisations like NGOs, such as the Wildlife Trust, to show you have a sustained interest in the space and to help you learn about the sector.

To elevate yourself, from an employer's perspective, it’s worth having a LinkedIn profile which lists all of your work experience, training or extra-curricular activities. This will showcase your achievements and dedication to the sector, and help you stand out to potential employers.

Answer:

During my Masters there was an environmental/green talks group, which was for students and professionals, and they had regular talks about the sector. It’s worth looking for these groups in your local area, as they’re a free resource to help you to network, and learn more about the industry. These can also be flexible and so can fit around your work schedule.
