MEET THE EARLY CAREER ADVISORY BOARD MEMBERS
Environment Analyst set up the Early Career Advisory Board to help educate people on career opportunities in the industry, how to advance in their career path. The board members are early career professionals from our Sustainability Delivery Group member companies.


James joined the company in January 2019 after graduating from the University of East Anglia with a degree in Environmental Sciences, through which he studied environmental assessment, management, and sustainability. James currently works within the Delta-Simons Environmental Transaction Services team, supporting the delivery of environmental assessments as part of environmental due diligence for clients looking to invest in and develop commercial real estate throughout the UK and across Europe.

ELLIE HATHAWAY
Senior Consultant, Ramboll
Ellie has been an environmental consultant for over 5 years at Ramboll and works across a variety of disciplines. Her main technical specialisms are air quality and sustainability, although she has also worked in Ramboll’s contaminated land team and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) quality assurance team. As a consultant, Ellie enjoys the opportunity she has to influence and support organisations to help make a real environmental difference.


ANNA VOLAK
Senior Field Ecologist, SLR
In a nutshell, her work requires her to carry out protected species surveys on areas of land that will or may be developed and turned into projects such as cable routes for wind farms, solar farms and battery energy storage systems. They also encourage developers to build in a way that won’t harm any protected species, retain, or create as much suitable habitat as possible and also provide additional resources for the protected species using the site.


KATHERINE STANFIELD
Sustainability Consultant, Jacobs
She has delivered on a range of projects, integrating sustainability management into buildings and infrastructure across the public sector including defence, highways, and rail sectors. These covered various aspects of sustainability including climate change, waste and materials, and wider sustainability strategy. Her focus has largely been on carbon management including completing whole life carbon assessments and providing wider Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon recommendations.


Adam joined Atkins after graduating from the University of Southampton in 2018 with a Masters in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Through modules such as hydrology, flood risk and surface and groundwater management, Adam developed an interest in the water management sector. Adam currently supports water companies with ensuring they deliver water supply in the midst of climate change, population growth whilst protecting the environment and utilises coding as a tool to process large amounts of data to support clients’ decision-making process efficiently.

BETH HOLT
Environmental Consultant, Mott MacDonald
Beth studied BSc Physical Geography and MSc Sustainability and Consultancy at the University of Leeds. She joined Mott MacDonald as a summer intern in May 2018, undertaking research for the company on natural capital tools which formed the basis for her master dissertation. Acting as an environmental manager on large infrastructure projects, she is responsible for ensuring that project teams consider sustainability principles and environmental constraints throughout design and construction process.


JOANA CEREJEIRA
Sustainability Consultant, AECOM
She has over 5 years’ experience working in environmental consultancy for a wide range of sectors including: public infrastructure, water, power, transport and logistics and property development. Joana has ample experience in the climate change and sustainability sector, in particular carbon accounting and footprinting (including scopes 1, 2 and 3), GHG emissions reporting and development of net zero targets, trajectories and strategies.


ELLE BARTLEET
Assistant Carbon Consultant, SWECO
Ellie specialises in delivering consultancy services in carbon footprinting, science-based target setting and net zero strategising, for organisations within the public and private sector. Prior to Sweco I gained a year’s experience as a graduate Climate Change Consultant at an engineering consultancy. My academic studies in MSc Applied Meteorology and Climatology and BSc Marine Geography allowed me to develop a broad, interdisciplinary understanding in climate change science, policy and environmental sustainability of both terrestrial and marine environments.
