Environment Analyst set up the UK Early Careers Advisory Board to help educate people on career opportunities in the environmental and sustainability consulting sector. The board members are early career professionals working in the sector.

Emily Ridge - Chair
Community and Events Manager
Environment Analyst
Emily Chairs the UK and North American Early Careers Advisory Boards, and is the communications lead for the Environment Analyst Leadership Network. Emily also produces and markets Environment Analyst's online events. Prior to joining Environment Analyst, Emily graduated from the University of Bristol with a BA in English Literature, and has also completed her Level 6 Diploma in Professional Digital Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Tamsin Potter
Environmental Consultant
Jacobs
Tamsin joined Jacobs as a Graduate Environmental Management Consultant in 2023, after completing her BA in Geography at the University of Oxford and an MSc in Environmental Policy and Management at the University of Bristol. Tamsin's work is varied and interdisciplinary, so far including Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) permitting for biogas generation at sewage treatment centres, ESG assurance (AA1000 standards) and sustainability strategies.

Isabelle Nuttall
Environmental Consultant
RSK Environment
Isabelle specialises in environmental management, carbon assessments and BREEAM for infrastructure and the built environment. Prior to joining RSK Environment she was a Sustainability Graduate with RSK Group's Sustainable Engineering Solutions division, managing businesses ESG plans and supporting the delivery of KPIs. She's involved in community sustainability networks, as an active member and a leader of local initiatives to bring people together.

Kirsty Ward
Environmental & Sustainability Consultant
Mott MacDonald
Kirsty joined Mott MacDonald in 2024 as a Environmental and Sustainability Consultant after graduating from Newcastle University with a BSc in Environmental Science with Placement. She has worked on projects across a variety of sectors including highways, rail, ports, energy and water, which has included contributing to Environmental Impact Assessment reports, environmental permitting, stakeholder consultation and engagement and an Environmental Clerk of Works role.

Danielle Esterhuizen
Consultant Ecologist
Ramboll
Danielle joined Ramboll after completing her Bachelor of Science in Zoology at the University of Exeter. Danielle has assisted on a range of projects delivering consultancy services in terrestrial ecology and Biodiversity Net Gain across the public and private sector.

Amy Goodship
Graduate Sustainability Consultant
AECOM
​Amy is a Graduate Sustainability Consultant at AECOM'S Carbon & ESG Practice. She has worked on projects across the public (rail and highways) and private sectors (water, food and beverage, business services) in and outside the UK and Europe. Her expertise includes carbon footprinting and modelling, science-based target setting, and circular economy. Amy also drafts climate change risk assessments and material and waste chapters for Environmental Impact Assessments. Prior to joining AECOM, Amy completed a BSc in Biology and an MSc in Sustainability and Consultancy. During her master's placement at Mott MacDonald, she led and delivered a project on incorporating Nature Positive into the infrastructure industry, which sparked her interest in this field.

Pia Mattatall Aedo
Environmental Consultant

​Pia is an Environmental Consultant within RSK Environment, an RSK division that specialises in the EIA process and a wide range of environmental and planning services. She manages and provides support for a variety of projects, including linear developments and renewable anergy projects. She is also a Biochemist with a Master’s in Environmental Pollution and Remediation. Her experience covers Environmental Sciences, the use of biomarkers for environmental screening and analysis of effect of pollutants on living organisms, general laboratory work, university teaching, research, and scientific project design and execution. She integrates all of these experiences into her day to day work as a consultant.

Amelia Mills
Senior Carbon Consultant
Arcadis
Amelia is a senior carbon consultant specialising in whole life carbon assessments and Lifecycle analysis for infrastructure and the built environment. This includes highlighting and implementing carbon reduction opportunities specific to the sector. She has experience in producing Climate Chapters for Environmental Statements, highlighting the significance of early mitigation, as well as using the Circular Economy metrics for infrastructure.

Mariano Gomez
Water Engineer
Sweco
Mariano started his career in the environmental sector after completing his MSc in Environmental Engineering at Imperial College, and he now works as an engineer in Sweco UK’s Water Environment team. Mariano works across a variety of projects, including flood risk and drainage assessments, hydrology studies, hydraulic and network modelling, while also supporting bidding and marketing activities. What he enjoys most is applying technical skills to deliver practical solutions that improve resilience and sustainability in local communities.

Olivia Hanley
Junior Flood Risk Consultant
Antea Group UK
​Olivia joined Antea Group UK after completing her MSc in Environmental Change, Management & Monitoring at the University of Hull. Olivia is a Junior Flood Risk Consultant, where she specialises in the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) for developments throughout the UK. Her role involves assessing flood risk from all major sources, including tidal, fluvial, surface water, groundwater and sewer flooding, and reviewing climate change impacts to support sustainable development. She works on a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial and industrial projects, interpreting flood mapping, hydraulic modelling outputs and site-specific information to provide practical, evidence-based flood risk advice and mitigation recommendations.
